On Friday, October 30 ghosts and goblins of Burke County will once again settle on Downtown Morganton for our annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating and Halloween Carnival!
Brought to you by the Morganton Downtown Development Association members, more than 35 merchants will be handing out treats from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. New this year, FREE horse drawn hay rides will be available from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Come to the Courthouse Square from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm for a free Halloween Carnival including games and a costume contest compliments of the City of Morganton Recreation Department!
Costume Contest
If you have an outstanding costume, the Annual Costume Contest is where you should be! Registration for the free costume contest starts at 3:30 pm with judging beginning at 5:00 pm. Downtown Bucks (certificates that can be redeemed at downtown businesses) will be given out in 5 age groups ranging from infants through 5th grade. A total of $250 in Downtown Bucks will be given away for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. There is no cost to enter, so come out and join in the fun!

To capture your special memories, Judy Willis Photography will be onsite taking Halloween photos. The Halloween photo package is $15.
