The Cook-Off will take place Friday, March 12 at the Community House (on King Street) from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. A BARGAIN PRICED $6.00 ticket buys all-you-can-eat chili with ALL the fixin’s, cornbread, salad, desert and drink! (If you're busy, you can get it to go!) How to EnterAmatuer Division: All are welcome to enter this division. Simply bring your crock-pot of chili and a the $10.00 entry fee to the Community House between 8:00 am and 9:00 am Friday March 12. Prizes include trophies and cash awards totaling $250 given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places! (Entries received after 9:00 am will not be included in the judging due to the competitive nature of this event.) Commercial Division: The commercial division of the Chili Cook Off is an intense competition between area restaurants. First place offers bragging rights to “The best chili in town!” Watch the Games Both rooms in the Community House will house a wide-screen HDTV compliments of Queen City Audio, Video & Appliances. This ensures that no one will miss a play during the big tournament! Pepsi is also on hand with their Sierra Mist drink line.
Proceeds for this event go to sponsor the various projects that are supported by the Downtown Development Association such as the annual Halloween Trick or Treating and Costume Contest, the annual Christmas Parade, Downtown marketing, sponsorship for a TGIF Concert and more.
