24th Annual ACC Chili Cook-Off

The ACC Chili Cook-Off presented by Burke County Farm Bureau is a fundraiser for the Downtown Development Association. The event will take place Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Morganton Community House (120 North King Street). A BARGAIN PRICED $7.00 ticket buys all-you-can-eat chili with ALL the fixin’s, cornbread, salad, desert and drink! (If you're busy, you can get it to go!). Tickets go on sale February 1st.

The Saturday Farmers Market opens April 28, 2018, and the Wednesday Mini-Market opens May 2nd from 12-4pm.

State of Origin is a boutique craft brew festival focusing on local breweries embracing North Carolina flora and fauna in the creation of craft beer. Every brewery must bring craft beer that was created using ingredients grown in North Carolina.

On Friday, June 29th, songwriters and bands from around the region will take part in the inaugural TGIF Showdown competition. Be blown away by the locally grown talent during this special edition of the TGIF Summer Concert Series in downtown Morganton.

Red, White and Bluegrass

In 2004, the annual 4th of July celebration by the City of Morganton's Recreation Department became the first annual Red White and Bluegrass Festival. Now celebrating its 14th year, the Red White and Bluegrass Festival spans four days full of entertainment and closes with a huge fireworks celebration. Oyster and Shrimp Festival

This will mark the 17th Annual October Oyster and Shrimp Festival, an annual fundraiser for the Burke Arts Council. The event will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 on the Old Court House Square and the Burke Arts Council property at 115 E Meeting Street in Downtown Morganton. The event begins at 1pm and goes until 8pm. PLEASE – NO PETS !! Admission to the event is free. The food and drink is available for purchase.
