Pop-Up Farmers Market

Then join us at the Morganton Community House on Tuesday, February 13th for the Annual Farmers Market Meeting. From 5:30-7pm we will dine and discuss items involving the 2018 season. Starting dates, ending dates, holiday market dates, WIC program, EBT & Fresh Bucks, and more will be discussed! If planning to attend, please RSVP by Tuesday, February 6th.

24th Annual ACC Chili Cook-Off

The ACC Chili Cook-Off presented by Burke County Farm Bureau is a fundraiser for the Downtown Development Association. The event will take place Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Morganton Community House (120 North King Street). A BARGAIN PRICED $7.00 ticket buys all-you-can-eat chili with ALL the fixin’s, cornbread, salad, desert and drink! (If you're busy, you can get it to go!). Tickets go on sale February 1st.

In 2004, the annual 4th of July celebration by the City of Morganton's Recreation Department became the first annual Red White and Bluegrass Festival. Now celebrating its 14th year, the Red White and Bluegrass Festival spans four days full of entertainment and closes with a huge fireworks celebration. Miss Morganton Pageant

The Miss Morganton Pageant is open to young ladies, ages 7-24, who reside in North Carolina. The pageant takes place during the Morganton Festival in early September and the queens are crowned on the Main Stage just prior to the festival’s headlining concert on Saturday, September 8th.

Calling all goblins, vampires, super heroes, princesses and gypsies and everything in between! Come to Downtown Morganton Wednesday, Oct. 31, and enjoy the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating and Halloween Spooktacular! We'll have trick-or-treating at downtown businesses from 3-5pm. When the trick-or-treaters have collected their candy, they can head to the Historic Burke County Courthouse lawn from 3:00pm until 6:00pm for a costume contest, inflatable fun provided by Summit Community Church, and plenty of free games and activities (compliments of the City of Morganton Recreation Department)!

Holiday Bucks Give Away

When: Discover a Holiday Rock and win! Holiday Rocks will be hidden each Friday

The Holiday Downtown Bucks Give Away is back, with a twist. Starting on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, Holiday Rocks will be hidden throughout businesses in downtown Morganton! Discover a Holiday Rock and turn it into the Morganton Main Street Office (112 B West Union Street) to win big!! Prizes range from $50 to $500 in Downtown Bucks, a gift certificate you can spend in downtown Morganton. A total of $3,000 will be given out over five weeks this Christmas. No purchase is required. Only one rock may be submitted per person each week.

Join downtown Morganton on the Saturday before Thanksgiving for a holiday celebration for the entire family! Come out to the Courthouse Square at 5:30pm for the Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony and then stick around until 8pm for the Winter Carnival. From 5-8pm the Courthouse Square will transform into the North Pole!

Activities like face painting, Snowman Bean Bag Toss, and Letters to Santa will be setup for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy a FREE relaxing Carriage Ride through town before heading to see SANTA! The jolly man will be hanging around waiting to hear what all of the GOOD little boys and girls are hoping for this holiday season. After seeing Santa, sit around the bonfire with your treats from Frosty's Diner!
